The Best Gift For Your Pet - Crate Training Dogs
July 4th, 2009
Have you ever read about crate training dogs? It sounds like an inhumane act to dogs who don’t do as they’re told. Surprisingly, it’s actually the contrary. Crate training is a good method of training based on the dogs’ natural need for security.
It is said that wolves are the dogs’ ancestors of old. This may or may not be factual but it still stands true that dogs are animals who lived in the open spaces before we adopted them into our homes. In the wild where there are dangers and perils at every turn- these dogs found caves and dens as a shelter and nesting area. This is the foundation of training dogs to use their crates in stressful and overly busy environments
Crate training has proven extremely helpful in relieving dogs of the stress of a busy household. They also aid in house training dogs, containing them in an area where they would do least damage. Pet owners would benefit from having the crate to protect puppies from harming themselves. Should you decide on traveling long distances or going to the vet, having dogs that are crate-trained will significantly lessen stress on the family and the dog itself.
Not all dogs can be crate trained. There are pets who have experienced severe trauma in the past with confined boxes. They will be difficult to calm down, thus making this method of training virtually useless. Some of the larger dogs panic when the door closes in and they break the crate altogether. And many owners are just uneasy with having living animals stuck in such an enclosed space.
Crate training dogs hinges on how the dog owner essentially views the matter. If thinking of your dog in a box makes you uncomfortable, you don’t have to push through with this method of training. However, if you believe that this will be advantageous to you and your dog’s personal space, you will find some helpful tips on how to go about doing this in the next paragraph.
You need to put the crate in a room where there will be activities and people. Make sure the enclosure you’ve chosen is a good size and put some of his favorite treats and toys inside it. When you guide your dog in, do not close the door just yet. For a few days just pet him and talk to him reassuringly through the crate. Begin feeding him while he is inside. If you feel he is already quite accustomed to the space, close the door for a few minutes while you are in the room. If the dog reacts violently or cries, wait for him to stop before letting him out. It is a new and often frightening experience for the pet so be patient and do not rush him with this.
For crate training to be successful, never use it as a form of punishment to the dog. This should be a place he seeks out to be safe and calm. If the dog is finally accustomed to being alone in the crate, you can try leaving the house in short intervals and see how he reacts to this. If there is no trouble, then you have a crate trained dog in your hands. Now you have freedom from constantly being anxious of your pet’s situation. More than that, your dog has found a haven of peace and security he can go to to escape from all of life’s stress and busyness.

Look Beautiful With Eyelash Extensions
July 4th, 2009
For many women today, Vancouver nails salon present the perfect way to relieve stress. There’s nothing better than getting yourself pampered. And yet nail salons today are no longer the same. They offer a number of services including Vancouver Japanese nail art, and the latest craze, eyelash extensions.
Women love to look and feel beautiful. Women today know that beauty is never complete without a stunning set of eyes and eye lashes to accentuate them. Unfortunately, most people are not endowed with beautiful lashes and settle for enhancements such as fake eyelashes and mascara.
Eyelash extensions are really stylish. It can make different eye types striking and attractive. I have small Asian eyes and these lashes help my eyes look bigger. I really feel beautiful when I have them. Eyelash extensions are really popular especially with celebrities and models so I did not have second thoughts in having them.
One of the top disadvantages of using mascara is that I have to reapply it every couple of hours. This proved to be a tedious process, and annoying too, especially when I attend parties. I had to keep going back to the ladies room to retouch. When you have mascara on, you cannot sweat or cry, or else you will have dark lines running down your cheeks.
Lashes with mascara do not look and feel natural. Too many times, you will get clumps on your lashes which actually feel heavy and can be uncomfortable when you need to open or close your eyes. Also, the dried mascara can fall in the eyes which can cause it to water and give you the appearance of ugly eye bags. Also, there are certain kinds of mascara which are not for long wear because they can irritate some skin types.
Unlike mascara, however, eyelash extensions feel natural because they are glued to the base of each eyelash. When you go to a Japan nail salon, it will only take a couple of minutes to put on. Eyelash extensions last a couple of months but you will probably need to go back to the salon every 3 weeks to get a retouch.
But this isn’t the only advantage of eyelash extensions over mascara. Too many women complain that mascara feels heavy on the lashes. Opening and closing your eyes can be uncomfortable and there’s also a possibility that debris can get inside the eyes. With eyelash extensions, this is the least of your worries since these extensions are not placed on top of the lashes. Instead, they are glued to the base of each eyelash to create that natural look!
With eyelash extensions, you don’t have to worry about dark circles around your eyes! It doesn’t run and give you a dark line under your eyes like what you get from mascara when you cry. You can wear your extensions everywhere - from the pool to the shower, you can be sure that it will stay on.
I enjoy my extensions because they give the convenience of waking up in the morning and looking good already. And I’m not alone in this. More and more women are actually asking for eyelash extensions and they are happy with the results. So what are you waiting for? Accentuate your eyes today with longer and fuller lashes. Get eyelash extensions from your favorite Vancouver nail salon!

Creating A Healthy Room In Your Home
July 4th, 2009
People always feel comfortable in their own homes. The way the house is decorated can tell a guest a little about the owners’ likes and taste. It is a way to display your personality of each family member.
Homeowners put all their money, time, and effort into decorating their homes. Some may follow one type of decor while others may decorate each room individually. But it’s about what makes the owners happy and comfortable.
Even with the importance of proper decor theme people often miss the proper accessories, especially in the living room. The main argument behind this is that people already see the living room as relaxing any way, so they see no need to try and improve it. There are various accessories which can be effectively used to beautify the living area. Accessories like antiques, area rugs, paintings, special flower arrangements, and glassware are some of the most useful accessories.
An area rug is something that should be considered. It can add even more life to the living room. It adds color and style to the living room. If you are ready to change the look of your living room but you don’t want to redecorate then try placing a different area rug down instead. You would be amazed at how this inexpensive change can mean so much.
You can add just a few small accessories to change the look of the entire room. It doesn’t cost that much to add the accessories either. An area rug can serve multi purposes; keep the floor warm in the winter, keep the rug underneath cleaner in high traffic areas, and more.

Newborn Crib Sheets: Bassinet Dependability is a Compelling Concern
July 4th, 2009
Baby memorabilia does not belong in the ‘throw-away society’ of today, we tend to hold on to many of their items. When you are pregnant, friends will offer to let you borrow their old nursery items and crib bedding. Since babies are a costly undertaking, be thankful for this selection of cribs and bedding for infants. When picking bedding and crib for your baby, do a little research to make sure the products are safe and trustworthy.
Whether it is a Moses basket or a crib, your baby’s first crib is the most memorable. If someone has been kind enough to give you their crib you will most likely want to clean it up and perhaps repaint it. It is a good idea to check the safety of the crib while you are in the process of refinishing it. You may have new looking bedding and crib, but you must always check them for safety purposes. Wicker cradles or cribs can chip and splinter very easily so it’s always a good idea to triple check them for sharp edges and it’s always a good idea to replace the mattress because it may not be holding up as well as it should. Babies like to put things in their mouth, so be sure that no loose ends or pieces of material are left over when fitting the skirt.
The drapes should be fixed properly. Loose materials might be caught by the child to put inside the mouth. Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s Association (JPMA) and British Standards (BS) recommend new bedding for baby’s crib as a safety precaution. Look out for products which either display JPMA seal of approval or the BS ‘Kite’ mark, as they have been tested painstakingly to meet all the safety regulations.
As for me, receiving products that were used before is perfectly fine when safety is not an issue and when the furniture is in food shape, even if it is baby bedding. Since your baby will be in his or her crib for extended periods of time it is important you spend the time inspecting it. You need to take all the necessary precautions to ensure your babies safety and well being. Here are some tips to bear in mind when assessing the safety of the equipment you have for your baby. First off, always make sure to check for spots where a child’s clothes might get caught and any chipped, loose, or toxic lead paint. The bars of the crib must be closer than 2 and 3/8 inches apart and the header and footer boards should not have any holes. Then the baby is free from any accident. The fixings and joints should be holding tight to keep the crib from shaking too much. You will want to make sure the side rail can be lowered or raised using one hand and when it is all the way up is is securely in place. Last, the mattress should be clean and not too soft, and be sure that the side rail is no lower than 22 inches above the crib mattress.
A new baby deserves a new mattress that is safe and securely fits into the crib. Nursery bedding that is not well-secured can cause suffocation, so either tie the bumper securely or take it out completely. Don’t use comforters, quilts or other heavy bedding for babies that are under a year old since this can cause overheating. You should monitor the temperature of baby’s room with a thermometer and keep sheets and blankets available to use accordingly. The crib should not be next to lamps or window blinds, etc Babies grow quick and try to climb.
Please have a safe and enjoyable time with your infant, as they quickly mature.
